Guest Bedroom Upgrade

I’ve been tackling this window in our guest bedroom for it's unique size and bright lighting for being on the second floor. Issues such as:

  1. Too small for custom made shades, like our other cordless pull-up/down shades.

  2. Dark window film still reveals bright lines around it and the lines from cut are just NOT straight!

  3. Maybe some faux flowers could cover up some cut line flaws from the dark film? Not practical for decorative purposes.

Until this moment, I can finally say I did a good job and in a frugal way!

  1. Curtain rod $15 - the shortest I can find for a 20” wide window!

  2. Recycled IKEA curtain fabrics from our first apartment, which are already >10 years old! But still in a good condition!

  3. Curtain strap from my previously used Macrame Plant Hanger! You don’t believe how elegant it looks until you try!

Well…my husband says it looks weird. On my second thought, it does look a bit strange lol but that’s the best I can do by using self-adhesive fabric repair patch cut in round shapes to maximize their coverage.

At least I’m happy to patch those holes in the most efficient way.

Not relevant to the above guest bedroom but related to our family bedrooms. We finally expanded our horizon to the side of the house. Hopefully these three crepe myrtles will grow tall soon and provide nice window views from both bedrooms.
