Halloween Pumpkin Carving
Mick secretly bought a craft rotary tool kit for pumpkin carving this year. Of course it’s for me to try different techniques and advance my skills!?
William and I found a picture from Pinterest and I quickly did the sketch. I had a crazy idea to stick Brachiosaurus’ neck through the pumpkin like he’s carrying it… but just my imagination after all.
Next is to open and clean the pumpkin. They did a good job scraping out all the slimy seeds.
Here we go. Started with big objects but how deep should I go?
First round along the lines and patterns are done. We tested the brightness by stuffing the pumpkin with string lights and I think I need to go deeper.
I changed the drill bit for the dotted patterns so the center is brighter than two tapered ends.
I actually extended the mouth firing and the back legs & tail to make a whole. Taking a full advantage of this big pumpkin!
Instant night time look in the house by the entrance. I guess I handled this challenge pretty well and I enjoyed my artsy looking pumpkin lampshade🎃.
