Zongzi Festival
Aka Dragon Boat Festival. I made an easy and healthy version of zongzi (rice dumplings) for celebration.
Bamboo leaves (of course)
Braised/spiced eggs (my sons' favorite)
Pan fried and braised pork belly/bamboo shoots/mushrooms/chestnut
Stir fried purple rice with shallots
Turned out they were very good and were totally accepted by my western aunt. I'm so glad to be able to share our tradition and its background stories with my western family.
