Halloween Inflatable Brightness Enhancement

I was stunned by seeing these two-year-old inflatables being so dimmed this year (before the one hour transformation - Viola in the video) so I quickly searched YouTube for solutions. Didn’t think it’s actually quite manageable to replace the LED lights inside the tree and the dinosaur. I don’t mind spending a little on the new lights ($1/ea) moving forward for having our front yard Halloween party keep going!

Our front yard is vivid again with the additions of octopus pumpkin hanging by the window and three ghosts’ tombstones under the tree.

Look how dimmed they are in the beginning compared to the new octopus pumpkin in the back.

The ghost tree isn’t scary any more for losing all the shine.

Let’s do something about it - the transformation has begun!

Purchased these LED lights and here the magic goes!

The idea is stick the new light to the original light so we enhance the brightness in the same location of the inflatables. Important things to consider:

  1. Wire connection: black dashed wire connects red wire of new lights.

  2. Secure the new lights with hot glue and/or rubber bands.

  3. Test by plugging before stuffing it back.

It’s pretty straightforward and we just need to do a solid ground work/inspection to ensure no hanging lights in the inflatables.

Instead using wire strippers, I remove the rubber part with scissors by slowly nibbling around the wire.

I ended up using the rubber bands to secure old/new lights. The problem is the back of old light isn’t flat (because of wire ends on both sides), which makes it difficult to adhere to the new light with hot glue.

The dinosaur counts four lights, including the pumpkin by it’s foot. The tree counts seven lights because it has three pumpkins lol.

Strong contrast when we fixed the dinosaur. Can’t wait to fix the tree!

Viola! The Halloween party has just started now!

FYI this was two years ago picture.
