Yard Leveling
Kinda feel like it’s something you would do when you have nothing else to do. Mick always wanted to level the yard by filling up with the sands. I was against this idea but thought to give it try this time. I genuinely felt lost like being in the desert when seeing the grass gone but look at it now in just about two weeks! The grass is back!
Started with two yards of sands delivered on our driveway. $60/yard and $50 delivery fee within 5 miles. Kids were so excited playing two hours straight right after school.
Sand slide? Anything they can think of…
Front yard first, repeatedly dump buckets of sands and rack the sands to fill up the holes and level the ground as much as possible. It can take several times to finish the project periodically.
Now I’m worried this much sand would kill the grass. While moving the sands here and there, Mick agreed with me to finally move the excessive amount out to the side yards despite higher grounds. We cleared out all the sands from driveway and finished the first phase work in one day before tonight’s storm as weather forcast.
After two weeks of intermittent rain, seems a lot greens coming back. Definitely felt relieved for the promising progress. Hooray boys!
If you noticed, the middle magnolia was thin due to previous freeze. Some branches died but fortunately not the main trunk. New branches came out mostly on the top weighing the tree to lean forward.
We then put a 5 gallon tree in the back to make the whole look full. A strap also helps straighten the tree better.
Actually this tree is a combination of three trees. Did you spot the third little one?
