aka Greer TaiTai (太太).
Where art design and parenting collide and spark, this blog captures the creative chaos of juggling both worlds.

Business Intelligence Professional
My first Tableau end-of-course assignment of Business Intelligence Professional Course, combining Google Cloud BigQuery console, that describes the Google Fiber customer service team’s business needs, project goals, dashboard functionality, and the BI methods. I also practiced how to interpret and communicate technical information in a way that all users can understand.
Garfield Pumpkin Carving
A different challenge this year but manageable after all - adding pumpkin extensions? Outlining the pattern looks surprisingly good and suits the animation style but how to add more pieces to the pumpkin head?
UX Designer - Wireframe & Hi-Fi Prototype
My first Hi-Fidelity prototype is finally completed…whew! With Figma community resources, I certainly have learned a lot more than I could’ve imagined. Template copy/paste is one thing, interactive template is another! Configuring how to animate “date/time picker” is the biggest challenge on this ME Bakes order app and I’m so excited to see the final prototype with real images and user interactions!
UX Designer - Wireframe & Low-Fi Prototype
UX Designer - my first digital wireframe! Very excited to be able to transfer my paper wireframe to the digital format for next prototype purpose and sharing for interaction.
Playroom Transform - Creative Zone
After a long story of learning appreciation of what we have, we spent the morning decluttering the playroom and made our “creative zone”. Kids are excited playing a combination of magnet tiles and blocks. Best part is they quickly filled up the wall and happily showcased their drawings!
Before they learned and show their appreciation, no ipads for now.
Adobe Graphic Design Proposal - ME Bakes
For completing last stretch of Adobe Graphic Designer Professional course, a business proposal - graphic design proposal, is created. I thought I might just use my dream start-up “ME Bakes” for this practice in case there is a chance to be used in the future (you never know). I did apply example proposal contents for professionalism and business familiarity practices.
Glass Fusing
First time experiencing “Glass Fusing”, the kind of creation of Lego in 2D, but in irregular shapes!? The art pieces of the workshop look so pretty that I couldn’t resist to take on this challenge.
Adobe Illustrator
Adobe - Illustrator bike poster assignment - so fun to combine shapes (shape builder) with crop/color manipulations! AI generated vector makes it easy to achieve the prototype image desired. Finally the “recolor” on multiple dimentional artboards creates more flavors.
Adobe Photoshop - Image Editing
My first hands-on branding project by using Adobe Photoshop! Started with the given elements and instructions, I applied techniques learned through classes, including layer masks (brush refine, color balance, gradient and blending), AI generated images, AI fill (for variant canvas sizes). Certainly feeling achieved and proud of my first real-life creative workflow!
Secret Base
Summer break has officially started and they came up with an idea of building a secret base, like a hole in the wall!? I gave them an alternative to create a space in the existing room instead of breaking the wall through😂 They accepted the option and drafted a floorplan. We got all we needed on a budget in IKEA.
Mother's Day
Thought to frame their words for me for this year's mother's day❤️
Adobe Express - Friday Singalong
My first Adobe express video edit - transforming our Friday night karaoke night into a fun theme!
Graphic Design - Brand a Brand
It’s a big project to include eighteen elements in a presentation. I used a practical example for my “YardGuard” weather-proof startup company and have hands-on practice on a professional design tool Figma.
Graphic Design - Composing a Complex Narrative
Composing a simple book by assembling the images and spreads I have collected from previous practices and made into one place. Setting up an eight page book consisting of 8 spreads (3 double page spreads plus a front and back cover) takes me some time to figure out indeed.
Graphic Design - Composing Simple Spreads
I began with just two cobras made from last assignment and added some older elements from previous practices to amplify the strategies. During the images arrangement, it's important to stay with hierarchy for not losing the focus while balancing out the empty spaces. The scale strategy works really well with the iterative spreads and catches audience attention greatly in my opinion.
Graphic Design - Range of Representation
It's interesting to construct images from realism to abstract. Sketch based on real objective seems working out the most for me while abstract innovation takes me longer time trying to catch it's spirit.
Graphic Design - Improvisation
I began with my backyard during playtime with kids. It's fun to pick up whatever is available in the backyard and I finished four images in no time. Continued the rest ideas with all my resources in the playroom and my craft stash. Due to material constraints sometimes, I altered the images in my head and improvised as the collection and process went. Overall the outcome was not far from my expectations.
Graphic Design - Typographic Poster
Typographic poster isn’t easy for all these tiny letters and the principles of typesetting to be dealt with. I’m thinking a robot may describe characters of “Franklin Gothic” for it’s heavy weight, condensed proportions, and minimal contrast between strokes.
Graphic Design - The Pretty Banans (Poster)
My first graphic design poster - The pretty bananas (Inside & Out) by assembling previous four weeks of practice and assignments in a new combination.
Graphic Design - Contrasts
Contrast combination of doubles and triples of below arrangement just by simple shapes:
scale
weight
direction
space
form
texture
